Each year, we grow thousands of dahlias on our farm in Phoenixville, PA. In an effort to maintain the healthiest stock possible, we observe plants carefully throughout the growing season and cull any suspicious plants or tubers that appear. We have are selling SINGLE tubers - each tuber will produce a robust plant (and tuber clump!) during this growing season, and BULK tubers - discounted lots of 10, 25, and 50 tubers. Tubers vary in size and shape, but we guarantee that all tubers will have an eye (growing point).
SHIPPING SCHEDULE We will begin shipping dahlias as soon as weather allows. Hopefully to warmer climates by late March, and cooler climates late April/early May. You will receive and email notification when your order ships – please make sure your email and mailing address are correct when checking out of our online store.
FARM PICKUPS We are offering pick up at our farm in Phoenixville, PA. We are not offering pick up at the Farmers' Market this year, but we will have tubers for sale at the market in May. Pick ups will be the last week of April, and we will email a reminder to let you know available pick up times. *We can be flexible with pick up dates - if you're a local grower, we would happily get your order ready earlier - please email us after your order is placed to schedule a pick up time*
TUBER ARRIVAL Immediately open your package and inspect tubers on arrival. We store our tubers between 40 and 45 degrees in a humidity controlled cooler. We inspect tubers multiple times to guarantee viability. Hickory Grove Gardens is not responsible for tubers failing to thrive due to poor customer care/post shipment storage. Hickory Grove Gardens cannot be held responsible for tubers rotting post planting due to weather or pest conditions. Some tubers take up to 6 weeks to sprout after planting. If you fail to see a plant emerge, please dig up your tuber and send a picture (along with your order number) to [email protected] . We will issue a refund if your tuber fails to sprout or the variety is mislabeled. Refund will be for the tuber cost only, shipping is nonrefundable.
